Sister Love and Tattoo Idea

A sisters love is forever

Me and Danni have always been close sisters, we dont fight like most siblings, just the occasional stupid argument like who got to sit in the front seat or what game we were going to play. She's 3 years and 8 days older me so our birthdays are just a week apart, and she has always been there for me no matter what. We used to share a room when we were little but as we turned into teenagers I got my own room but we still next door to each other. Then as she finished college and moved onto university I had to get used to her not being around. It was hard to begin with, it hurt most that I actually got used to living as an only child and then when she would return for a few weeks I would find it hard having to share the house again as it seemed.
A few months ago she got her dream job, a lead singer on a cruise ship, and off she sailed. You think Id be used to her being away from home after 4 years but this seems harder than any of that. Its because of this Ive decided I want to get a tattoo in the thought of her :)

These are some exisiting tattoo designs I have found, I love the font of 'Lucy&Orla', this typography is written by artist Betsy Dunlap, and the tattoo was comissioned because the father loved her writing style, and i can see why! Im half temped to contact her about my own.

At the moment this is the design I want written on the top of my thigh, at first I wanted her name written on my wrist (which is still a possibility) but I figure on my thigh its not majorly going to be seen, unless in shorts or a bikini, its slightly more hidden and personal which I think is nice.
In the photo of my leg above you can see faintly where I attempted to see what it would really look like, I did this by writing the design out backwards on celotape in a fine liner and then pressing it onto my skin. Sounds silly I know but I just reeeallly wanted to know what it would look like. First impressions are good! Il keep you posted on if my ideas change and when I get the real thing done!

Im off to see her on the 19th June and would absolutely love to have it done by then to show her but we'll see how it goes! Im not so good with the pain thing haha.
Do you have any tattoos? Is it meaningful like this or just an image you love? :)

Beautiful Brows

On Wednesday mum took me to the Ideal Home Show in London! We'd both never been before and she was extremely excited to look round the 3 show homes and get some ideas for a new kitchen and bathroom. First impressions as we walked in I was really impressed and excited to look round, we got there at about 11.30am but by 3pm I was getting bored and tired. Downstairs was all garden stuff, home interiors, furniture, bathrooms, homeware diy tools, etc. Whereas upstairs was beauty, fashion, little cutesy home things and food! haha :)

My best purchase of the day was a new eyebrow kit, because I recently went from blonde to brunette I now have to fill my eyebrows in everyday, unless I want to look silly as they as much lighter than my hair colour. I have been using a brown pencil which was about £3 from superdrug with a little brush/wand the other end to brush the colour through. It's ok, but it takes forever to try and get them to look even or a nice shape.
Who ever thought of an eyebrow shaped stencil is amazing!!
It's so ridiculously quick and simple and the end result is amazing, I cant explain enough how much I am in love with this!

The kit includes:
3 x brow stencils (Sleek, Natural and Bold)
Dual ended brush
Eyebrow powder in your shade (mines in Chocolate)
Mascara
Lipstick
Technique:
-Choose desired brow stencil for the day
-Place arch of stencil in line with your natural brow arch and match up ends
-Dip brush into powder and tap off excess
-Brush through brow from outer edge to inner (this sounds like the wrong way but it ensures the powder locks into your brow hair)
-Brush back over brow from inner corner to outer edge
-Take away stencil (and brush over if needed to reposition any stray hairs)
-DONE

Seriously I absolutely love this idea, once you get used to holding the little stencil with one hand its so quick to do and saves me so much time getting ready in the morning. It was only when I started filling in my eyebrows I realised how much of a difference they make to your finished makeup look.

Overall opinion: AMAZING <3

Clip on Ponytail

Ever since I had my hair cut considerably shorter I have always worn extensions when I feel I want back that luxurious long thick hairstyle. I've always just worn clip ins but recently my sister brought a few of these amazing pieces as she is a lead singer on a cruise ship so these come in extremely handy and she has to wear them for her performances. I had a look round town yesterday and found this for just £12! Im not sure its human hair but if its not its AMAZING quality and soo soft! It feels better quality than my hair extensions which are human hair. I had to dye my hair a shade darker to match this beaut but it wasnt until I got it home I didnt realise quite how long it was. Because its a layered piece I chopped off the longest layer of hair (not quite 'chopped', I was careful and neat of course) which led it to be the length you see above. However I still think its still slightly too long to get away with? Not sure whether to get rid of another layer or not, maybe I'll have to wear it for an outing and see how it goes.
How to put it in - (p.s, my natural hair comes to just past my shoulders) It may look scary and confusing but trust me its EASY! so much easier than clipping in a million hair extensions in individual layers haha. So to begin with you simply put your hair up into a bun, how high up on your head is completely down to personal taste and probably worth some time playing around with. Then apply the cirle (bottom left image above) this has 2 hairgrips in the top and bottom which you need to slide into your bun to help secure it in place.
Then once its over your bun there is a drawstring which you cant see in the images above, however press down the small clip which opens up the drawstring it tighten it as much as you can around the base of the hairpiece. Obviously this will leave the elastic string dangling down which you definately dont wanna forget about hiding! I've found the best way is to wrap it around the hair and use a hairgrip/ bobbi pin to secure it under the hair/ inside the hairpiece, and your done! Amazing, gorgeous thick ponytail. I love mine the style I purchased it in, but if you feel you want to adjust the style just be sure to use a heat protectant when using any hot tools such as straightners or curlers :) Happy hair styling! x

The Magic of Makeup

I thought I'd do a quick post of my everyday makeup routine, I got this idea from one of my favourit beauty bloggers and youtubers SprinkleofGlitter :) she posted an image on her instagram of before and after makeup and I thought it was a great idea! This post just simply runs through the products I use on an everyday basis to create a presentable face for the day ahead.
Good makeup starts with good skin! I believe in this 100%, because of this my first steps in the morning are cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise. Next up is BB cream, I use the new Estée Lauder bb cream to help keep my skin moisturised throughout the day as well as even out my skintine. Overall this product helps perfect, protect and hydrate the skin. A light layer of foundation, I personally use Estée Lauder double wear for a 15 hour long wearing, medium to full coverage :) mac studio fix concealer to help cover blemishes and any redness showing through. I then powder the skin to lock my foundation in place. Contouring the cheeks help define your cheekbones and slender the face, blush on the apples of the cheeks for a slight pop of colour and a shimmery light powder applied with a fan brush above your blush really helps to highlight where the sun will naturally hit the skin. Moving onto eyes :) I apply a Chanel cream eyeshadow in a shimmery peach colour all over the lid with my finger and then from the urban decay naked 2 palette, 'tease' a matte brown/ taupe shade with a blending brush into the crease. Liquid or pencil eyeliner on top lash line and a few coats of mascara to top and bottom lashes. If you have time for nothing else, mascara will make a hugee difference and the best product I'd recommend applying. And last but not least a light pink lipstick :) and your done! Ready to head out the door for a day full of adventure. I know it seems a lot of products to pile onto your skin for a 'quick' everyday look but once you get into the routine it becomes so natural and effortless. I love makeup and playing around with different looks and colours, but when it comes to needing to leave the house in a relatively short amount of time this is the look il go for :)

(I already know how dreadful I look in the before part of this image so no need for any nasty comments :) )

Have a good day :)

Carmine Beauty Box

Beauty Boxes
For a while now I've been trying to decide which of the beauty box companies I wanted to subscribe to, through watching youtubers reviews and researching the websites I felt there were 3 main choices, each slightly different in their desired customer aim as well as included products.

GlossyBox, www.glossybox.co.uk
£10 a month plus £2.95 P+P
'5 luxury product miniatures from high-end brands'
One of the things I like about glossybox is for every completed product survey you post on the website you receive 20 glossydots, once you then reach 1000 your next glossybox is free of charge.

£10 a month plus £2.75 P+P
'5 hand picked deluxe product miniatures delivered each month from makeup to skincare to fragrance'
Similarly to glossybox there is ways of receiving a free box with carmine, the 'my carmine' tab on the website allows you to gain points, once you reach 50 points your next carmine box is free of charge. To gain points you either refer new subscribers or purchase gifts which is where you can buy either a single box as a gift or subscriptions of 3/ 6 or 12 months.
Carmine also has a youtube channel and blog which I think is nice for subscribers to feel part of a beauty community, not just recieve products each month and thats the end of it.

Boudoir Prive/ JolieBoxUK, www.boudoirprive.co.uk
£10 a month plus £2.95 P+P
'Recieve 5-6 deluxe size samples each month'
A difference with Boudoir Prive compared to the other 2 boxes is that they have a shop on the website which enables you to purchase all the full sized products youve tried out in your box without having to go out and find them in the shops or online.
Boudoir Prive includes slightly higher range products and will include brands you might not necisarily of heard of which some people may like whereas others will prefer to have heard of the brands which they are receiving.

Which one did I chose?
After looking into the 3 companies above I chose to subscribe to Carmine :)
I was stuck between GlossyBox and Carmine but made my decision through a few different reasons, I chose agaisnt Boudoir Prive because I wanted products which I'd heard of and more reasonably priced full size products.
The first reason behind choosing Carmine was that fleurdeforce on youtube (one of my favourite beauty youtubers) is the video host for Carmine, this means she goes out and interviews different companies and beauty specialists for beauty tips and tricks and information on products which are in your beauty boxes. The second reason was that when I was looking through the past boxes and what they included, overall I preferred the choices of Carmine boxes over Glossybox, of course this is personal preference and why I chose to do that extra bit of research before making a decision.
I also really like the blog side to Carmine, www.blog.carmine.co.uk this includes, articles on celebs, beauty tips, behind the scenes and articles on events, shopping, etc. I like this becuase it makes me feel more innvolved with the company.

Onto the Box!
So, after choosing Carmine, once I had signed up to the website I was offered the choice of whether I wanted the January Box as my first delivery or wait for the February Box. I thought it was good I was given the choice, and because I was able to see what was in the January box ( as well as already knowing through watching youtube videos) I wanted the January Box because there was 2 products I was particularly interested in recieving!
I subscribed to the website and my January Box was shipped out on Tuesday 7th, with estimated delivery to be the 14th, however it came today! :)

These were the 2 products I was most excited about and the reason I went for the January Box instead of waiting for the February which is estimated to be delivered on the 22nd February.
EYEKO fat eye stick in Black
'Take it from us, this chubby stick of soft, creamy colour does double duty as a liner and a shadow to create the perfect smokey eye that will never go out of style.
This is priced at £10 RRP and available to purchase at the link Ive included above. Theres 6 choices of colour; Black, Petrol Blue, Chocolate Brown, Charcoal, Satin Taupe and Old Gold.
As I only received my box today I haven't tried this out yet apart from swatching it on the back of my hand, just like the description included in the box it really is super amazingly soft and glides on with a real glossy finish unless smudged or blended out which I think will create a gorgeous smokey eye. Once I've tried this out a few times I will definately do a proper review and include in a makeup tutorial which I will post up on my youtube channel. I know that not everybox had the same colour which I think is a nice idea of them as everyone will be testing out different colours, I really like the look of the satin taupe and the old gold, would have been nice to try out a liner other than a black but still very pleased.

Eldora False Eyelashes, B162
'If you havent already flirted with falsies, this is the year to do it! Whether youre going for a bit of extra length or a subtle touch of sparkle, Eldora's false eyelashes are the perfect way to turn up the glam'
From what I can see on the website shop their eyelashes range from £3.90-£12.90 depending on the style your going for. Theres SO many! I was actually quite suprised that the more basic lashes are only £3.90 I thought they'd be alot more. The website states they have more 200 different types of handmade lashes to choose from! Within my carmine box I also receieved a 50% off code to use on the Eldora website when spending £15 or more which is a crazy discount that I may to take up on once I've tried out these ones. I like that the ones I received are quite natural looking and will just enhance my natural lashes, I have pretty long eyelashes already so never really wear false eyelashes but recently been getting into them a bit more so definately excited to trial these :)

Other products in the box; Korres Wild Rose 24hr Moisterising & Brightening Cream
Balance Me Radiance Face Oil
Westlab Himalayan Pink Bath Salts

Overall I'm really impressed with my first Carmine box :) super quick delivery, really like the packaging and very happy with the products. Now to wait to see what the next box will bring! I'm more excited about the next box because of not knowing whats going to be inside!
If anyones interested in furthur reviews on the products I will most probably do a review once Ive tried them all out or perhaps include it along with another post, so keep watch out!

P.S, Theres another company with a new beauty box on its way! Stay tuned as I will have more information for you all soon! :) exciting stuff xx
